Eggs from Pasture-Raised Hens
We raise our hens outdoors on green pasture. The chickens forage all day, roaming around their paddock and roost at night in portable chicken coops.
In the morning we move the hens to a new paddock while they are still sleeping in the coop and then let them out to eat bugs, fertilize, keep weeds down and generally improve the pasture. Moving them frequently ensures they improve rather than destroy the soil.
Our chickens lay eggs with bright orange yolks, indicating they are high in beta-carotene and other vitamins from their diet of green, leafy forage. We provide our hens a supplemental grain ration, specially formulated to meet all their nutritional needs.
Fresh eggs from our contented hens make breakfasts and baked goods something to look forward to.
