Provenance Farm was started in 2009 by Rachel and Keith Prickett of Philomath, Oregon.

Rachel was raised on a small farm in Lincoln City, Oregon and developed a passion for farming and ranching at an early age. Her grandfather operated cattle ranches in Southeast Oregon and she spent the early years of her life in one of New Zealand’s richest pasture-based dairying regions, so it seemed inevitable that she would follow her interests to an agricultural college. Rachel graduated from Oregon State University in 2006 armed with a degree in Animal Sciences and a dream of starting a grass-fed beef operation.

Keith grew up in Woodburn, Oregon. He uses his engineering skills on the farm, acquired during his time obtaining a degree in Computer Engineering at Oregon State University. He is enthusiastic about cooking great food with high quality ingredients, a value which is reflected in Provenance Farm’s guiding principles. Keith enjoys reading the latest alternative agricultural books and is constantly looking for ways to apply this knowledge to our farming practices.

Together Rachel and Keith enjoy being a part of a growing community of young farmers who are bringing the principles of respect for land and livestock back to agriculture.
